Sixteen years of Buttoned Down Disco

The sound of London's biggest indie dance club night

It's 2002 and Buttoned Down Disco, the new addition to London's club scene has music-mad revellers dancing to the beat of cool indie, eclectic pop and alternative dance tunes. Add in a sprinkling of remixes, mash ups and quirky cover versions and never again would you need to compromise your friend's diverse music tastes when choosing where to go on a Saturday night. Finally there was a place where we belong; a place to call home on London's club scene. An absolute gem of a night out that harmoniously combines the exclusive feel of a night made just for musical eclectics, with the friendly vibe of it being open to anyone with a song in their heart and rhythm in their feet. The best part? This absolute treasure of a night out has enjoyed the sweet sound of success for the last fifteen years.

Held on the first Saturday of every month, on Saturday 3rd November 2018, Buttoned Down Disco celebrate their 16th birthday and the party is sure to be a music lover and dance floor diva's dream.

Self-confessed music junkie, club night founder and resident DJ Christian Laing, has built the success of Buttoned Down Disco on it's unique musical mix saying “Where other club nights have fallen out of favour when musical trends have changed, Buttoned Down Disco has stood the test of time because we don't only offer a restricted niche of music. Our music spans genres and generations, providing a unique, fun, musical experience that is enjoyed by music lovers from across Europe, either at our regular venue, KOKO in Camden or at our summer boat parties and DJ sets at festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Latitude.”

First donning a pair of headphones at age of 4, Christian has spent his life eating, sleeping and breathing music. His monstrous library of music (which fills his front room) and uniquely innate skill for gauging a crowd means he truly understands how to build up atmosphere and get the party well and truly started. His first gig was back in 2000 and since then he's played Glastonbury, Latitude, Reading, Isle of Wight Festival, The Forum, Scala, Turnmills and many more.

Entry is invitation only, an original concept in indie clubs which has helped to create a haven for music lovers who love to dress up and get down to dance! Students and those wanting their money go further queue up for the pre-10.30pm free entry. A consistent commitment to their ethos of a happy and safe door policy has established Buttoned Down Disco as London's biggest yet friendliest indie dance party! The happy, friendly vibe is further enhanced with glitter make up and showers of colour from giant, bouncing balloons that gently drop to the dance floor.

For large groups looking for a truly majestic night out in the capital or wishing to celebrate a special occasion, book the Royal Box or Directors Box with 25 or 30 queue jump tickets respectively, the facility to pre-order drinks and spectacular, panoramic views across the busy dance floor of one of London's most iconic venues, KOKO, which still retains it's theatrical architecture and palatial, decadent opulence from its earlier incarnation as a theatre when it opened in 1900. On re-opening following a multi-million pound refurbishment in 2005, the venue attracted musical legends such as Prince, Madonna and Arctic Monkeys. It only seemed fitting then, that after serving up their musical delights at a range of venues across London, KOKO would become the home of the now burgeoning following for Buttoned Down Disco.
